NEXT and the organising venues are committed to making the festival as accessible as possible. This year, we are further increasing the number of buses accessible to people with reduced mobility. As always, we offer simple surtitles for all shows that require them. To help you make your choice, you will also find pictograms on the performance pages. In addition to these general accessibility measures, we are also organising a number of specific measures for certain performances. These measures are being implemented with the support of Interreg VI France–Wallonia–Flanders as part of the NEXESSIBLE project and the City of Kortrijk in the case of the SAMEN NEXT project.
You can find out more about our accessibility measures here.
Do not hesitate to contact the theatres directly for further information.
During festival periods, the response time may be longer. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Performances adapted for blind or visually impaired people
To enable blind and partially-sighted people to access our festival's shows, NEXT festival provides audio descriptions and tactile tours of the set for certain shows.
Reception and box office staff are also on hand to advise and guide blind and partially-sighted people.
Audiodescription
For blind and visually impaired people, we are organising two shows with audio description.
Performances adapted for deaf or hearing-impaired individuals
In order to give everyone access to our festival performances, all shows are surtitled in French and/or Dutch.
Some of the festival venues also have sound amplification or magnetic loop systems.
For more information, please contact the venues directly.
Performances with connected glasses
For deaf or hearing-impaired individuals, we are organising three performances with connected glasses. These glasses allow adapted subtitles to be projected. In practical terms, this means that in addition to the spoken text, the sounds of the performance are also described.
Shows adapted for people with neuro-divergence or mental disabilities
Relaxed Performance
We organise relaxed performances for neurodiverse people. During a relaxed performance, conventional theatre etiquette that excludes certain people is adapted for the entire audience. The measures we take are as follows: - We provide fidget toys, weighted cushions and noise-cancelling headphones. - You are free to walk in and out of the auditorium during the performance. - There is a sensory-friendly space where you can relax before, during or after the performance. - You are free to react to the performance in whatever way you feel comfortable.
