For what purposes do we process your personal data?

NEXT Festival may refuse to provide services or goods or refuse to enter into a contract or perform certain acts if you do not provide NEXT Festival with the necessary data.
- participation in NEXT Festival activities ("fulfilment of a contract")
- communicating practical information or possible changes to the programme after the purchase of a ticket (performance of a contract)
- to send newsletters or invitations. (consent of the person concerned and legitimate interest)
- to provide information on the operation and activities of the festival (legitimate interest)

We have the right to request (collect, store and process) the following personal data for the above-mentioned purposes:
Depending on the purpose, NEXT Festival may need to process different types of data.

This involves information that will enable you to be identified and contacted (name, date and place of birth, address, identity card, profession, position, training, customer number, national registration number, vehicle registration, driving licence references, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail, language, user name as well as data supplied spontaneously, company and VAT number, information relating to your participation in events (and photos taken on this occasion). The NEXT festival never asks for more information than is necessary for the above-mentioned purposes.

In the case of NEXT festival employees, data is also required for payroll purposes.

Security and confidentiality of personal data
Only authorised persons have access to personal data, and only insofar as this data is necessary for the performance of their duties.

NEXT uses sub-contractors to process the personal data collected (accountants, social secretariat, IT solution providers, event organisers, for example). These sub-contractors are established in the European Economic Area. When NEXT uses sub-contractors, the personal data collected is likely to end up in the countries where the data centres of these sub-contractors are located. If the countries in question do not fall within the scope of an agreement concluded with the EU, or if the sub-contractors are not recognised as a party to the agreement, NEXT undertakes to remedy the situation by concluding an agreement with the sub-contractors which offers the necessary guarantees in terms of the protection of personal data. NEXT ensures that its sub-contractors comply with strict rules.

In principle, personal data is kept for the period stipulated by law (often up to ten years after the end of a contract or the completion of a transaction). In order to exercise and guarantee our rights, this period may be longer (as long as legal action is not excluded, for example), depending on the applicable limitation periods.

Retention period for personal data
NEXT does not keep personal data longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was provided or the legal period, i.e. five years.

What are your rights?
By virtue of the legislation applicable to the protection of personal data, you, the "data subject", have rights. NEXT makes every effort to ensure that these rights are respected. For example, if NEXT has requested your consent to process your personal data, you will be able to withdraw this consent at a later date.

If you wish to access the personal data processed by NEXT, you must make a request to us. NEXT will then provide you with as complete an overview of this data as possible. It is possible that certain personal data from backup files, log files, histories or archives are not included in this overview. These data are not part of the personal data usually processed and are not immediately available. They will be deleted from the files in accordance with the usual procedures.

You have the right to ask for your data to be corrected if it is inaccurate, and for it to be deleted if it has been processed unlawfully, even if it is an error. You have the right to oppose the processing of data collected by NEXT on the basis of your legitimate interests. NEXT will allow this unless there is a compelling reason to do so.
NEXT does not carry out fully automated processing, in other words processing which does not require any human intervention.
You also have the right to request that the data you have provided be sent to you in person or directly to a third party at your request. We may ask you to provide proof of your identity before granting your request.

Complaints
If you have any complaints about the processing of your personal data, please contact us directly (info@nextfestival.eu).
You may at any time submit a complaint to the Data Protection Authority (https://www.autoriteprotectiondonnees.be/), which is the supervisory body responsible for ensuring compliance with the protection of personal data.
