What if our bodies were potential alphabets ? For Ingrid Berger Myhre the stage is a blank page, and her body is the ink that fills it. Whether the Norwegian represents a running man with two swaying fingers or loudly twiddles a balloon ; dance is for her a theatrical and poetic language of signs.

In her new performance the choreographer wants to translate the stream of our thoughts into gestures together with dancers Nicola Gunn and Ida Wigdel. Spelling Spectacle is about logic, consequence and possibility. With 'if, then' as an underlying idea, Berger Myhre examines what a choreographic train of thoughts can look like. How does one movement follow from the other ? On the basis of which elements does something get meaning ? And what does this say about our way of reading ?

The title Spelling Spectacle contains two words that refer to reading or seeing but also evoke a feeling of magic. 'To spell' is to spell something out, but 'a spell' is a magic incantation ; 'spectacle(s)' is a spectacle to watch, or glasses to see.
