François Chaignaud is a dancer, singer and performer and for years he has been looking for the sensual and the spiritual in his internationally acclaimed oeuvre. Aymeric Hainaux is a versatile artist, beatboxer and musician. Mirlitons could be a concert, a ritual, a fight or a pastoral. In any case it is a meeting between two voices, bodies and universes.
Both intrigued by each other's work, Chaignaud and Hainaux got together in the studio to test the other's musical bounds. There they went in search of forms of singing and rhythm that are seldom explored. The stage becomes a playground with changing rules. Vocal cords, arms ánd feet compose a new score. Somewhere between extremely loud and incredibly close Chaignaud and Hainaux reach a state of physical and musical intensity. Whether they search together, clash or actually listen to each other ; the duo is as intangible as a 'mirliton' (a French word that means a small flute, but also a headdress, an old coin or a cake)
