A ritual of connection that creeps under your skin

Too often still, people with a disability remain in the shadow of the social atmosphere. To understand them the Lithuanian Kamilé Gudmonaité puts a spotlight on their experiences and stories.

She invites a mixed group of professional and non-professional performers to analyse the concept of normality. In an intimate and straightforward atmosphere they question the diversity of human existence. Gudmonaité lets herself be inspired by life stories and is known for her honest style. With FEAST she confirms her place as a theatre maker who is not afraid of silence, emotion and confrontation.

The Lithuanian Kamilé Gudmonaité not only studied production at the Academy for Music and Theatre, she is also a singer and composer with the musical duo Kamaiu Silelis. With her first production Dreamspell based on the play by August Strindberg, she harvested acclaim and international recognition.
Her creations start from the motto that theatre must be abrasive and rock the boat. Gudmonaité focuses on subjects such as mental health, mourning, sexuality, gender and handicaps. She often combines documentary elements with music and drama and works with both professional actors and amateurs.
