On a road trip to uncharted territory

Between the dominant north and the tropical south lies Central America, a forgotten region full of borders, dreams and revolutions. Through the true story of a Nicaraguan woman on the run, the Mexican collective Lagartijas Tiradas Al Sol brings this area back to life. Central America thus becomes the backdrop for a theatrical wake-up call about power and migration. Personal, political and painfully contemporary, Centroamérica takes you on a road trip.

Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol is a group of artists consisting of scenographer Luisa Pardo, writer and actor Lázaro Gabino Rodríguez, actor and director Francisco Barreiro, actress Mariana Villegas, dramaturge Sergio López Vigueras, graphic designer and photographer Juan Leduc, lighting designer Marcela Flores Méndez, architect and visual artist Pedro Pizarro Villalobos and visual artist Chantal Peñalosa. Their work is not limited to the stage; they also produce books, radio, video and educational projects. Since 2003, they have been developing projects with the aim of connecting life and work, erasing boundaries and drawing new ones. The stories they create always start from events in reality. They seek ways to unravel and reflect on what everyday life presents us with. Things are what they are, but they can also be something else.
