A Nublo tries to overlap two spaces : the theatre, a closed space built by and for Man, and a valley, an open space transformed and formed by geological and atmospheric circumstances. Edurne Rubio and Maria Jerez want to interweave these spaces, enable meeting points, thus creating a temporary third space, both ancestral and futuristic.

The scenography doesn't represent a natural landscape. The makers prefer to see the theatre as a landscape, a place that is subject to transforming powers. A Nublo is an invitation to understand this seemingly obvious place as a sensitive ecosystem. The spectator is forced to unlearn certain logics, to be 'less human'. Here light, sound and scenery are not at the service of a choreography, they áre the choreography itself. Watching theatre becomes world orientation. A Nublo is a relevant piece of speculative science fiction.

In the course of their artistic career, Edurne Rubio and Maria Jerez have worked together on several occasions but A Nublo is their first work in co-authorship. Edurne's work is close to documentary and examines how we relate to the space we live in. Maria's work focuses on opening potential spaces by meeting with what we think strange or extraterrestrial.
