Somewhere between group therapy and musical theatre, Jack gives a stage to niche music and to those who no longer dance. In an abandoned club, three noise freaks gather for their weekly therapy session. The DJ analyst mixes inner dialogues and obsessions of three caricatures who struggle to be heard and seek refuge in music. After all, music can affect our bodies, heal us, comfort us or saturate our brains to the point of oblivion. Together, they walk the line between speech and song to find back their voices and their connection to the world.
Influenced by sound poetry, French playwright Halory Goerger's Jack pays a tribute to a particular approach to sound that can be described as "hard" music. Techno, house, electro, functional music meant to be danced to but also listened to outside the club for its intrinsic qualities. He gives this niche music the stage it deserves. His creations are written as a kind of organised chaos in which everything is on equal footing, from lyrics to acting, lighting, sound, set and equipment.
