What do we think of when we hear the word 'freedom of movement' ? Why are we so obsessed with speed ? The Austrian performer Michael Turinsky makes a dead honest solo about life with a physical disability. With his body, which he cannot and doesn't want to use in the way that is considered 'standard' he designs a choreography of resistance.

In Precarious Moves Turinsky makes his spectators reflect on crip time, a concept with which persons with a handicap challenge the compelling norms around time. Not they should adapt ; it is society that has to organise itself in accordance with diverse needs of mobility.

Through humour, philosophical considerations, song and dance Turinsky takes the public along in his experience of the world. He lets a toy train ride or blows paper sailing boats onwards in a bowl of lemonade. He produces a little sports car, makes wild movements with the upper part of his body. The result is a particular ánd universal view of what it means to relate constantly to your environment.
