Play with me

Something between a playground and an art installation. This is how we could describe the new creation of Eric Arnal-Burtschy. After Deep are the Woods, a performance in which the light danced over the body of the spectator, the choreographer, performer and researcher now invites us to move with sound.

To conceive Play with me, he invented – together with Chapelier Fou and Laura Muyldermans – a set of six apparatus adapted to both outside and public places, in which body movements can activate melodies. From a musical swing to a turning mast that produces rhythms : unique instruments invite you to irresistibly dance and swing. Each action generates a new sound. If you jump higher or lower, the song takes a different turn. So let the dancer -or music maestro- in you come forward and create your own spontaneous live composition in Play with me.

Eric Arnal-Burtschy studied history, philosophy and geopolitics before concentrating on living and visual art. He creates visually unusual spectacles, installations and compelling performances that tempt the audience on different levels. Next to Play with me he also creates Genesis – une introduction  –  at La Rose des Vents, an experience of the origin of the universe which will be launched in the summer of 2022, in which the spectators are placed in a metres high whirlpool.
