On the internet we continuously put ourselves on stage. Basing themselves on YouTube videos Giuseppe Chico and Barbara Matijevic make Our daily performance, a choreography for five performers. Their attention specifically goes to tutorials, little films whose purpose is to teach the viewer something, such as bringing the lyrics of a song in sign language. The tutorials steer physical behaviour and allow people to train, to protect themselves, to take care of themselves or to defend themselves.
In this piece the choreographers denounce the hours we spend in front of our screens which have a negative influence on both our brain and our body. In this way Our daily performance shows how the internet influences our perception of the world and our actions and how we keep staging ourselves every day again and again. Balancing between theatre, dance, martial art and performance this piece exposes the rituals around our internet behaviour and offers a recognizable eye-opener about our online double life.
