La Peau de l'Espace

Yasmine Hugonnet (Switzerland)

50 minutes

How do you represent standstill and movement at the same time ? Yasmine Hugonnet has been working for a few years on the articulation of immobility and movement, at the same moment and in the same body. This way of composing dance between development and stability invites the spectators to a game with the visible and the invisible made of perseverance and transformation.

With this new project the spectator gets served two performances in one. La Peau de l'Espace is both a narrated story and a danced performance. With it Hugonnet opens the gates to her personal lab. Which actions are effected before a movement ? How do you express yourself even in standstill or do you take a form in space ? Which story does a body at rest tell ? La Peau de l'Espace invites the spectator to observe the poetry of space.

Yasmine Hugonnet was born in Switzerland and today lives and works in Lausanne and Paris. Next to her work as a dancer, she has been creating her own choreographies since the year 2000. She is interested in shapes, images and sensations, in constructing (and deconstructing) a choreographic language and in processes of embodiment and appropriation. In 2017 she received the Prix Suisse de Danse for her creation Récital des Postures.
