Boomerang ou "le retour à soi"

Claudia Triozzi (France)

A piece for an actress and a dancer. An investigation into the meeting with the other on the stage, in which Claudia Triozzi focuses primarily on the feeling of uncertainty and the fear of the unknown. In the performance, they express themselves for example in disturbing, pathological voices. At the same time Triozzi goes deeply into time and history, a.o. with references to Japanese butoh and more particulary the work of Hijikata Tatsumi, the so-called architect of butoh dance. Moreover, she asks questions about theatre in a series of interviews which she incorporates in the performance in the form of image and sound. The final explanation of the boomerang of the title is a return to oneself. You have to be prepared to get lost first and walk unknown paths. Only then can you get to know yourself and do you return to yourself, richer than you were.

The Italian Claudia Triozzi was trained in classical ballet and contemporary dance. Since 1985 Paris has been her operating base. She creates iconoclastic pieces from which the dance never emerges undamaged. She makes short work of any prejudice against choreography, develops an entirely personal vocabulary of sound and gives a fresh view on time in each of her productions. Boomerang premieres in NEXT.
