Lisbeth Gruwez, former star dancer with Jan Fabre (produced her first performances at Buda and ???) completely broke through with her own company Voetvolk in 2011 thanks to the memorable solo It's going to get worse and worse and worse, my friend. It was selected for the Theatre Festival and toured all around the world.
Now it's time for her first group creation AH-HA. Five performers throw themselves with total abandonment on the phenomenon of laughter. They roar, grin and shake with pleasure but in either slowed down or blown up form. The focus of Voetvolk is the investigation into the ecstatic body and isn't laughter one of the very strongest emotions ? The performance explores the form language of the laughing body and makes the spectator feel its physical and psychological impact. Sometimes it's quite contagious !
