When in doubt, duck

Tine Van Aerschot (Belgium)

90 minutes

Tine Van Aerschot is a visual artist and worked together with a.o. Meg Stuart. She makes her debut as an author and director in theatre in 2006. When she saw a performance with surtitles for the first time, she wanted to make a production about the transition from the spoken to the written word. Now there is When in doubt, duck, in which the text works as an orchestral score. The three performers on stage are continuously putting the content of the text across but who says what or how it happens is completely free. So, every actor plays his own interpretation, which makes every theatre evening unique.

Expect an extraordinary theatre experiment in which the text reaches the audience through projection, sound, spoken word, movement and dance.

When Lille was the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2004, Le Tripostal was the central meeting point. It used to be an old industrial complex where mail was sorted ; today it's a trend-setting exhibition space and a lively cultural centre in Lille, a reference in the field of contemporary art creation. Le Tripostal is ideally situated between the two stations of Lille, Lille Flandre and Lille Europe.
