Sacrifice while lost in salted earth

What can sacrifice mean today ? Can the sacrifice be considered as a poetic deed, a daily event that happens in everybody's life ? What could it mean to sacrifice yourself, collectively or individually ?
Hooman Sharifi is a Norwegian choreographer and dancer with Iranian roots. Together with five other Iranian dancers who live and work in Europe he uses the revolutionary Le Sacre du Printemps from 1913 as an inspiration to tell his story. He translates the then spring sacrifice to the challenging times of today.
In this performance each individual dancer takes up an independent place. Each of them brings his own physical sacrifice. But together with the audience they also look for something that transcends individuality : a community feeling built on the willingness to sacrifice oneself and meet the other.
To music of the tambura, an old instrument played live by Arash Moradi, this incredible team of dancers creates a collective body of sacrifice, a ritual of death.
