Interactive dances
When does digital content become a threat ? Which traces does technology leave behind in our bodies ?
In this interactive dance performance of Sebastian Matthias we meet creatures of fear. You yourself become part of the soundscape : from your mobile phone come electronic sounds that melt together into one common resonating body. The Urban Creatures app reacts to physical nearness between the dancers and the visitors.
From 2014 to 2016 Sebastian Matthias was Factory Artist at Tanzhaus nrw in
Dusseldorf. There he showed Danserye, XOXO and Intergalactic Underwater Palace, a performance for children. Throughout his research into a participatory artistic practice he develops interdisciplinary projects between dance, media and science.
Practical : make sure you to come 30 minutes before the start. A fully loaded smartphone is necessary to be able to participate in the performance. Help will be given to install the Urban Creatures app.
