A desolate dump somewhere in a nameless no man's land. Five dancers who clear a path among the mass of clothes on stage, like animals. And then there's actress Elsie De Brauw who is completely wrapped up in her role as a schizophrenic woman. This is the setting of Tauberbach, the new dance theatre performance of Alain Platel. For the movements, the dancers explored that little piece in their head which hasn't yet been influenced by civilisation. The sublime music by Bach combined with the apocalyptic world of a rubbish dump yields a raw poetry which gets under the skin of the spectators.
A deserted dump somewhere in a nameless no man's land. Five dancers who clear Both De Standaard and Knack Focus awarded five stars to Tauberbach and the Theatre Festival selected this masterpiece as one of the best performances of the past season.
