Radical Light is an audio-visual poetic essay based on the dance performance of the same name by choreographer Salva Sanchis. Filmmaker Robbrecht Desmet starts from the intimate creation process within the closed space of the dance studio. Spectators are still far away. The film shows the special character of working on dance and looks for it in a face, a silhouette or a garment, in the relations between the dancers and in the complex dealing with the own body. In a live voice-over a text is recorded of sociologist and essayist Rudi Laermans, also scriptwriter of the film. The texts reflects on the relations among dancers, and the relation between the dancer(s) and the spectators.
