Polish Marta Górnica has brought together 28 women of various ages and different backgrounds in a unique choir.

Chór Kobiet plays with memory and therefore unearths forgotten songs and theatre texts. The choir also wants to explicitly break with language. That’s why it primarily looks for its voice in rhythm, repetition, thrumming and droning. This is the chorus speaking is the first performance of Chór Kobiet. It’s difficult to give a clear definition of it because This is the chorus... is a bit of everything : some theatre, a bit of cabaret, some pop and some opera. Marta Górnica’s libretto is an overwhelming collage which culls from every possible register. Recipes, songs, commercial slogans, motifs from fairy tales, phrases inspired by Antigone or Simone de Beauvoir – they tumble all over the place, interrupt each other and come together in a delirious game of rhythm and energy, on the edge of collapse but indeniably convinced of their own right.
