Have you always wanted to participate in a dance performance ? Or is active participation your worst fear and you prefer watching ? In both cases choreographer Seppe Baeyens can enchant you. Invited is a dance project in which both your little brother and your grannie feel at home. With dance as a shared language Baeyens founds a community of cast and audience in the course of one hour. Accompanied by three musicians he makes his diverse group, in which all generations are represented, expand into an unstoppable whirlwind.

At the centre of Invited is a piece of scenery, 'Rope', an impressive blue snake of 65 metres and 196 kilos created by Ief Spincemaille. The snake connects, sets in motion and leads audience and performers through a collective informal choreography. Just for a moment we have a glimpse of a community without prejudice in which everybody can be himself. There is no must. Dance really means 'meeting'. A liberating experience.

As a dancer Seppe Baeyens worked with a.o. Fabuleus, Kopergietery and Ontroerend Goed. For a few years, he has been a choreographer with Ultima Vez of Wim Vandekeybus where he investigates the power of collective creation.  In the past Baeyens was very successful with Tornar, a dance performance that was carried by an intergenerational cast of non-professional and professional dancers. For Invited  he goes one step further : this time the whole audience creates the choreography together. Both Tornar and Invited were selected for Het Theaterfestival and obtained high praise both home and abroad.
