Histoire d'Amour

Teatrocinema (Chile)

95 minutes

Seldom were theatre and graphic novel so well mixed with each other as by the Chilean Teatrocinema, specialized in the borderland between film, theatre and animation. Histoire d'Amour is a hyper-visual performance in which the actors move between two projection screens in order to make the three-dimensional illusion as complete as possible. You imagine yourself in a film noir like Sin City ! Histoire d'Amour is based on a novel by Régis Jauffret in which a professor of English crosses the path of a certain Sophie in the underground. He decides to follow her, penetrates into her house and rapes her. Subsequently, a bizarre love story develops between them. Teatrocinema succeeds in staging this apparently heavy subject in a magic universe full of ingenious machinery and visual poetry.
