distant voices

Fieldworks (Belgium), Heine Avdal (Belgium / Norway) & Yukiko Shinozaki (Japan)

The Brussels dancers and performers Yukiko Shinozaki and Heine Avdal have done artistic interventions in offices, hotels and supermarkets before. Two years ago, they played their pop-up strip cartoon Nothing's for Something at NEXT, in which they made objects endlessly change form and enchanted us with huge balloons and all shades of black. Also in Distant Voices they work with modular sculptures which 'materialise' space and continually put it in a different perspective. The theatre is completely opened up by a play with (in)visibility and mystery.

Distant voices is an invitation to travel along to a dream world that plays with memories, perception and expectations. A performance that stands midway between an installation, a scenography and an architectural intervention.
