A graceful dialogue that reveals the essence between two people.

Dancer and visual artist Mickaël Phelippeau is well-known for his double portraits, a beautiful series of choreographic portraits around always a different person or a group of people. Each time Phelippeau stages a surprising meeting with them. A double photo portrait, for which the artist and his conversation partner(s) swap their clothes, seals the moment. Since 2008, the start of his project, Phelippeau has designed 20 of these creations.

The performers he invites have different backgrounds and can unroll the thread of their story on stage. Solo, as a duet or as a group. Jean-Yves Robert, the then parish priest of Bègles (bi-portrait Jean-Yves, 2008), or Anastasia Moussier, a French-Guinean school girl (With Anastasia, 2015) have appeared in the project. Recent portraits dealt with Ben Salaah Cisse and Luc Sanou, two dancers from Burkina Faso (Ben & Luc, 2018) and Heddy Salem, a young man from the northern neighbourhoods of Marseille (Juste Heddy, 2019).

This time Françoise and Alice Davazoglou are the performers. They are mother and daughter, but one of them we call 'healthy', the other is carrier of the Down Syndrome. Phelippeau met them in 2015 during a workshop he gave. In this duet the women illustrate their daily life with tender and spontaneous gestures. Get to know the complexity and the beauty that unite them.
