Creation 2012 - sold out!

Dave St-Pierre (Canada)

105 minutes

The Canadian choreographer Dave St.-Pierre doesn’t believe in love. In his Creation 2012/ Foudres he puts a number of Cupids on stage. They are a far cry from the charming fatties in paintings. These creatures are aggressive and take pleasure in pain and destruction. They aim their arrows at a couple who then try to fight their way through the sorrow and misery of love. The performance is the third part of a trilogy after La pornographie des âmes (2005) and Un peu de tendresse bordel de merde ! (2010)

Dave St.-Pierre is undeniably an enfant terrible in the world of dance. His productions provoke, shock and shake you awake. Epithets like ‘the pornographic son of Pina Bausch’ or ‘the Houellebecq among choreographers’ say it all. St.-Pierre takes pleasure in overthrowing clichés and opts for a new way of dancing in which all kinds of genres and bodies (dressed but more often naked) find their place.

“St.-Pierre’s new creation contains a lot of brilliant images and idiotic irresistible bright ideas.” (NRC Handelsblad)
