Famous anthropologist pleads for ecological revolution

We, the living”, the theme of the meetings of Citéphilo resounds forcefully this year, with today's stakes. Philosopher and anthropologist, professor emeritus at the Collège de France, Philippe Descola has renewed contemporary thinking about ecology by completely redefining the relations between humans and non- humans.

Fed by his field experience in Upper Amazon, this subtle critic of our communities suggests exceeding the opposition between nature and culture. Questioning himself about art, questioning the expressivity of objects and images, Philippe Descola articulates the forms of the visible in as many ways of living in the world. The meeting will be preceded by the documentary made by Eliza Levy, La composition des mondes, which presents his approach and his questions.
