NEXT TIME : this is (not)… NEXT 2020

Like so many other cultural events this year, the 13th festival edition of NEXT had to be cancelled. That's why the five co-organising partners have created the NEXT TIME label in order to programme performances that should have taken place during NEXT 2020. The productions are shown in the course of the regular cultural season or during special festivals of the various houses.

  For many months 24 French, Flemish and Walloon art houses  have been working hard on the preparations of the 13th edition of NEXT. We were looking forward to welcoming you again to 38 top performances and premières. Today a lot of artists are working in the NEXT houses to add the final touches on their newest creations. In the meantime we have continually been adjusting to keep complying with the safety measures. However, it is with great regret that we inform you that there will be no NEXT in november 2020. Today we all have to work together and take action in order to conquer the corona virus.

Performances in Flanders and Wallonia cancelled untill 19 November 2020.

13, our lucky number? Let's dare to believe it! For the past 13 years, NEXT has been breaking down borders by leading a partnership uniting 24 theatres, cultural centres and arts centres in 16 municipalities in France, Wallonia and Flanders.Organised by five cultural structures*, NEXT has become one of the major annual festivals in Europe, presenting some thirty shows by renowned artists, innovative creators and young emerging talent from the world of theatre, dance and performance.

We look forward to welcoming you again soon for the best of what contemporary theatre makers and choreographers have to offer us today. We hope to travel through our region together, making it our region, regardless of national or linguistic boundaries. Discover from now on the NEXT 2020 programme, with 38 performances, including 7 national and 8 world premieres, in 16 cities in the Kortrijk-Lille-Tournai + Valenciennes region. TICKET SALES START ON OCTOBER 1ST @ 11:00 am! Of course, this edition is organised with the greatest care for your health and safety. We're trying to build on the constraints of the pandemic to get new creative energies out of it!
